The Fennec Fox
The Fennec Fox is the most adorable little imp in the sandy deserts from Northern Africa to the Middle East. This cute little mammal can only be seen at night, but rarely seen in the day.
This desert fox is a small, cream colored fox. It has a black tipped tail, and a black or dandy yellow belly. The Fennec Fox is eight inches tall, but its ears alone are 7 inches long! The tail of this fox is 12 inches long. However, it weight only about 2 to 5 pounds!
The fox lives in a few different deserts, it mostly lives in Northern Africa and the Middle East. I lives underground or it can be found living in a cave. The climate which the fox lives in is usually warm.
The Fennec is nocturnal which means it goes to sleep during the daytime and stays awake at night time. At night the fennec hunts for small mammals and insects so it can eat. If you have a Fennec Fox as a pet, it would like to eat a mixture of cat and dog food!
This little mammal is difficult to see because scientists don't want to go to the harsh deserts in search of this shy animal. So, if you want to see it then go to the zoo because there you will be able to find the Fennec Fox in its own little habitat.
