In California in Mojave Desert that has climate as dry as a bone. There lived a lived a family of 3. Melissa pronghorn who was ten, and she was a least 4 feet. Agatha 8, who was small and had lots of brown fur she was three feet tall. She only could have 2. Mamma Pronghorn said she would be gone for a couple of hours and that the kids would have to stay home. So Mamma Pronghorn went looking for moist leaves and grass for supper that night.
When Mamma had been gone for a long time, the kids started fussing for food. Melissa and Agatha went out somewhere where they weren’t sure of without telling anyone. Mamma Pronghorn hadn't said where she would be. They tried to eat the grass by the house, but it was too dry, so they went farther away and that's when they got lost. Melissa, who is the oldest and the biggest one, yelled for Mamma Pronghorn, but no answer came. So Susan said "Why don’t we walk around and see if we bump into mamma? They all walked around and found Mamma Pronghorn. Mamma asked '' Why are you out here?" They explained the whole story on the way home. When they got home they filled their stomach till they felt like they would explode. Since then, they put on weight and weighed from 80 to 154 pounds. From then on, they had a wonderful life together.
