The Eye and Ear and What They Are All About
by Sarah

Are you ready to take a fascinating trip inside your eye and ear? Well, I hope so because it’s too late now! Hold onto your hair everyone ‘cause HERE WE GO!

We’ll start with the eye. This is how you see: the image of the object goes into your eye ball, through the pupil, into the lens, then it goes into (what I call) the inner eye, down the optic nerve, to the brain and you can see. Kinda bata bing bata boom isn’t it? Well when the image gets to the inner eye it is upside down so when the image gets to the brain the brain has to turn the image around. So being able to see is more complex than you think, eh?

Now on to the ear! This is what happens first: the sound waves go into the ear, strike the ear drum, (which might I say is very thin) which makes the hammer bone vibrate, then the anvil bone vibrates then the stirrup bone vibrates, then the sound waves go through the cochlea, next the auditory nerves take the sound waves as electricity to the brain and you know what your hearing!

Well, that’s the end of my tour so I hope you had a good time!
