Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes was a famous poet who was born in Joplin. Missouri in 1902. He died in 1967 at the age of 65 years. He started writing poems when he was a boy and was the class poet in eighth grade.
Langston Hughes went to high school in Cleveland, Ohio and went to college in Pennsylvania. His first book of poems was called The Weary Blues and was published in 1925. He worked as a busboy while he wrote stories, poems and articles for magazines. He wrote for radio, movies and Broadway shows.
