A Portrait of
John D. Rockefeller, Sr.
by Daniel Ca.

John did not have much money as a child. He got hired for a commission business. Then he got rich for oil. John almost never got excited. Some people did not like him. People made fun of him Whenever he saw someone he gave them a dime. No one would ever spend a dime he gave them. It was a privilege to get one. John gave $5,000 to a school for black women. Without John D. Rockefeller we would not have the land in Pocantico. John died in peace on May 23, 1937. He lived to be 97 years old.
