1921 was a year of many changes. Scientists made life-changing discoveries and after over a decade, African Americans swept the stage on Broadway with all black musicals. While Russia was suffering from a mass famine, the United States was busy creating new and delicious snacks and Betty Crocker became a household name. Political conflicts were patched up as the United States and Germany finally signed a treaty, long after World War 1 had ended. Warren G. Harding took the role as the new nation's leader and became the 29^th president of the United States. 1921 was a year full of achievements and success on the nation's behalf.

• On March 4 Warren Harding sworn in as the nations 29^th President.
• Hot Springs National Park containing 47 mineral Hot Springs was created in Arkansas by act of Congress on March 4.
• In May, a mass famine in Russia begins.
• On May 5 "Coco" Chanel introduced Chanel_No.5.
• On May 21 "Shuffle Along," the play based on the book by Eubie Blank and Noble Sissle, was the first all-black Broadway musical to debut in over one decade.
• In the spring, the Ku Klux Klan began a rein of terror nationwide. They murdered minorities and uncooperative government officials.
• On July 14, after only five hours of deliberations, a jury found Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanetti guilty of murder. 
• The US signed a peace treaty with Germany to end World War 1 on August 25.
• In September the first Miss America Pageant is held in Atlantic City, NJ. Margaret Gorman was the winner.
• On November 10,  Margaret Sanger founded the American Birth Control League.
• Land O' Lakes Butter Inc was formed in Minnesota by Meeker County Minn., creameries.
• Albert Einstein wins the Nobel Prize for physics after his discovery of the photoelectric effect (his famous Theory of Relativity).
• Pablo Picasso created the famous painting "Three Musicians."
• Johnson & Johnson introduced the Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages.
• In Cincinnati, P.W Drackett &Sons. introduced Drano.
• A young grocer named Earl Wise Sr. founded Wise Foods. Wise had more potatoes then he knew what to do with and decided to make these extra potatoes into potato chips.
• Peter Paul introduced the Mounds Bar. This is a coconut and bittersweet chocolate bar made from a formula created by a chemist.
• Vitamin E was discovered.
