The House on Maple Street
by D.J.

I was jogging through Maple Street the first blue house on my left had 1 bright light on coming from the attic. I stoped for a second then I becane jogging again. I heard a loud scream for "help" I spun around and nothing was there. So I becane on my way again. I heard an even louder scream for "help" I turned around and I leaped off the sidewalk with fright. I turned around and nothing was there I started jogging faster. Then  I heard an even higher pitched scream for "help" I turned around really fast and there he was. My cousin Nick in the attic window my mouth was dry with fear and I dashed away I heard somebody whisper "it is going to be a perfect lift-off". I hurried away toward the police station. When I got there I asked is anyone here? "Then the fat and hairy police chief came out, "hello what is the emergency"? "Aliens I was out of breath and scared. I could not think of a complete sentence. "House off ground on Maple Street". We took the chief's Hummer but when we got there it was to late. On the grass  were the words on a piece of paper it read with a check mark next to it were the words it was a perfect lift-off. I smelt burning smoke, bark, wood, and the pine needles from the pine trees. When we turned around toward the chief's car behind it was my cousin. I ran to give him a hug, "Are you ok?" "Yes," he whispered. "How did you get out ?" "I jumped out the window." "Cousin, can I sleep at your house?" I hope they do not come back to Earth for the rest of my life or steal anymore houses.
