China
By Samantha M.

There are many places to visit in China. To start with, Hong Kong is one city you can visit. In Hong Kong most people prefer to wear Western-style clothing. However, a few women still wear a tight-fitting dress with a mandarin collar, called a cheongsam, or a samfoo, a pajama-like shirt and pant outfit. One site to visit is Ocean Park. It has 14 rides and a huge four story aquarium with more than 2,000 fish! Another amazing place to visit is Victoria Peak. It is located on the western half of Hong Kong.

Another place to visit is the Himalaya Mountains. It has eight of the world’s ten highest mountains in the world including Mt. Everest. Mt. Everest is the tallest mountain in world. It is 29,035 feet tall. Steep slopes with poor soil make farming difficult. The weather can be dangerous to climbers because of the vicious winds.

As well as The Himalaya Mountains and Hong Kong, The Forbidden City is another great place to visit. It is located in the heart of Beijing. The Forbidden City is the largest palace in the world. Most people were forbidden to enter. Since yellow is a symbol of the royal family the roofs were yellow. Only the royal library’s roof was black black represented water. The Chinese believed the black roof could put out the fires.

So you can see China is a great place to visit because of Victoria Peak’s spectacular views in Hong Kong, The Himalaya Mountains on the border, and The Forbidden City the heart of Beijing.
