almanac - a book published every year with facts about the weather, tides and rising and setting of the sun apprentice - a person who works for a skilled worker in order to learn a trade or skill

arithmetic - figuring with numbers, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing (today we call it math) |

autobiography - the story of a person's own life written by that person

wick - a cord in a candle that burns when it is lit
