Dear Members of Congress,

Government made a weak decision to use the Articles of Confederation. They are creating a very weak and divided country. All the states are doing whatever they want. States are not paying taxes and if they don’t pay taxes our country would just sink to the bottom and other countries will not trade with us. There is no court system to solve problems people would do stuff really bad and just think I can do any thing I want. Congress can’t even pass laws and there is no system to ensure that laws are being followed. There needs to be a change.

States are choosing how much taxes they pay to the national government. States should be required to pay the taxes. We need money for the debts of the war that we just came back from. Nobody is paying the soldiers. Shay and other farmers are mad because of high taxes all their farms are gone.

We need a court system to solve problems. We can’t bring people to justices that have done something really bad. Can’t solve problems that happen to different people. Each state should at least have one court system. Also court system should be for the country.

Congress can’t pass laws! 9/13 votes are needed that is ridicules. Congress has had trouble running the country. I think we would at least need 7/13 votes because 9 is to much. No treaties European Countries believe we won’t survive.

This is why the Articles of Confederation need to be changed. The thirteen colonies need to begin acting as one united country.
