Beginning this year all school districts are required to use the Optical Scanning Machines used in the general elections. We will no longer be using the lever voting machines as we have in the past. We are all new to these machines, and ask for your patience the day of the vote. We will have certified Election Inspectors from the Westchester County Board of Elections to operate the scanning machines and to help with any issues that might arise throughout the day.
As of February 2, 2016, petitions are available for School Board Candidates. There are two seats open for three-year terms. See the Resources section of this page to download and print a petition if you are interested in running for the Board. You can also pick up a copy of the petition in the District Clerk's office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Not sure if you are registered to vote on May 17, 2016, click on the link below "Am I Registered" (in the Resources Section) to find out. If you are not registered, stop in to the District Clerk's office at 599 Bedford Road, Sleepy Hollow between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to fill out a registration form. Eligibility to vote in any school district election is as follows:
1. A citizen of the United States
2. At least 18 years of age
3. A resident within the school district for a period of 30 days preceding the election at which such person desires to vote
