My Life with a Wave
By Jaya
I was at Jones Beach having a wonderful time standing in the sun. The sand felt really bumpy. Suddenly I heard a sound that made me jump! Someone was yelling, it came from the ocean. When I got closer I could hear better than before. When I found out what it was, I surprised that it was a talking wave. It was saying, "Help me, Help me." Then I went to my house and got a jar, when I came back the wave had shrunk. When I told it to get in the jar it automatically got in the jar. But then I noticed it was stuck! I pushed and pushed till I finally got it in. I felt so relieved. When I got home I told my mom and dad what an adventure I had. The next morning the wave was out of it's jar and was lying on the floor but my room was sparkling clean. I was amazed when I saw it. When my mom and dad saw the wave they said, ''What in carnation is that?" When I answered back, "a wave," they told me to get it out of the house first thing next morning. Next morning I asked my mom and dad if I could keep the wave for one more month and they said, "Yes." Then I ran to my room as fast as my legs could go and told the wave that I could keep it for one more month. A month passed by very quickly. I was very sad to say goodbye. But I was forced to and very soon the wave was back at the beach. But to this very day we meet every summer at Jones Beach.
