As I was sleeping, someone pulled me out of my bed. When I woke up I found myself in a harbor in Maryland on a cold and crisp night. As someone approached me I got scared. He said his name was Captain Tory. He asked me, "Do you see that boat?" "Yes," I replied. I asked him, "Why did you bring me here?" He told me he needed another sailor to fight pirate ships. I said, "Yes I can help, but I have school." So I had to come up with a solution. After 2 weeks, I came up with a solution.

 

I went back to the harbor. I told Captain Tory I could only help him on the weekend. He said, "OK." I asked, "When do I get my uniform?" The uniform was white and it had red stripe on the shoulder and black buttons. I decided to wear my own hat.

 

It was one more day until the weekend. I was so excited. When I awoke, I put on my clothes and ran to the harbor and got on the boat. I saw Captain Tory. He told me, "We only fight at night." I said, "OK, what can I do then?" He said, "Put the bombs in the cannons."

 

Soon it turned night and we all got ready for battle. All of a sudden there was flash of light and a sound like thunder. Sparks went up and the battle began. It lasted a weekend but we were still standing.

 

The captain and I cheered as we were victorious over the pirates. It was Sunday night and it was getting late. I told the captain, "I enjoy fighting pirates but my parents will start to worry if I don't get back soon." The captain smiled and nodded as we headed back to the harbor.
