Another Place, Another Time
by Olivia
On a cold night in December, I had just entered my bedroom when I saw a shadow in the dying embers of my fireplace. In the blink of an eye, I was asleep. When I woke up I was in a big cart that reminded me of a rollercoaster cart. But this definitely was not my favorite ride, and do you know why? Because I was on an endless track  in the middle of nowhere, and the only things in sight were my brothers, Jacob and Martin and my sister Charlotte, and the glorious colored flag above us.

When I woke up, I realized that the sky was getting foggier and foggier. Suddenly, it became pitch black, with no stars to light our way. After the cart had traveled for many miles, I noticed a light ahead of us. As we got closer to the light, it seemed as if we started to lift of the ground. Then the cart began to twist and spin and I trembled, fearing that we would all fall off. But instead the cart landed on soft grass and we all tumbled out.

Up ahead of us stood a little Indian boy and behind him there was an enormous stone castle. I could see that on the boy's head was a small feathered hat. The boy did not say a word but he pointed to the castle as if to think, if there was an answer, he'd find it there.

The boy led us to a small Indian tribe. The boy's father took us to a gigantic feast with the most scrumptious food that I have ever tasted! Then the boy's father led us to a room the size of a regular house! Since we were so tired, we went to sleep before you could say Jack Robinson. As I slept, the room seemed to get hotter and hotter, and I could smell burning wood! THE CART! How would we ever get home?

But when I opened my eyes I realized that the fire in my room was still burning and that somehow we had made it back to our house. I still don't know how this happened!
