Another beautiful place in China is Mt. Everest. It can be found just north of India. Mt. Everest is the highest mountain in the world it is 29,025 ft high and reaches into the jet stream. It is about 60 million years old. Mt Everest is also one of the most dangerous mountains in the world. Because the height is so high, the wind gets up to 200 miles per hour and is covered in ice and snow. 4,000 people have tried to climb Mt. Everest and only 660 have made it and 140 people have lost their lives climbing the mountain.

Finally, you must visit the Forbidden City (also known as The Palace Museum) located in the heart of Beijing. It was the home of 24 emperors. There are 980 buildings and 8,707 rooms. It is surrounded by a moat that is 360 meters long and 50 meters wide. Since yellow is the symbol of royalty, the Palace roofs are yellow, floors are yellow, and even tiles on walls are yellow. It was opened to the public in 1942.
