Great Places to See in China

There are many interesting places in China for you to visit. Shanghai is one fascinating place to see. Did you know it has more than 20 million people living there? Shanghai is split in two sections. One section is where poor people live and the other side of the city is for the rich. It costs a lot of money to live there.

Another reason why you should visit China is to see Mount Everest. Scientists say its over 60 million years old! Over 1,000 people tried to climb Mt. Everest and only a few people were successful. The first two people to climb it were Sir Edmund and Tenzing Norgay.

As well as Mount Everest you should visit the Terracotta Warriors. The Terracotta Warriors are life size figures of army warriors grouped in battle formation. They were discovered in 1979. They were built because there was a king called Qin Shi who died and was buried in a tomb. The warriors were built to protect him in his after life. King Shi’s tomb has deadly booby traps all around. Did you know there are over 7,000 clay warriors?

As you can see, China is a pretty cool place to visit. Shanghai is the largest city in China. Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world and the Terracotta warriors are ancient figures that anyone would be amazed by!
