Meeting Mrs. Obama
Meeting Mrs. Obama on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Stone Barns was very exiting because we were one of the only third grade classes from Westchester chosen to meet her which was a real privilege.
As my class and I toured the herb garden, we got to smell, eat and pick herbs like chocolate mint, orange mint, apple mint, spearmint, purple basil, lemon balm, pineapple mint and many more. We even got to try the purple basil.
Later that day we came inside to have some lunch at the Blue Hill Restaurant. We got to eat some delicious cavatelli with pesto sauce and salad. For dessert we had sweet-and-sour plum crisp with fresh cream. It was so delicious!
I felt excited meeting Mrs. Obama because we got to go to the herb garden, take a picture with her, pick tomatoes off the vine and eat a delicious lunch. It was such a thrilling experience.
