Whoosh, whoosh! I heard a sound as I was walking through the cornfield on a golden, sunny, autumn day. I could barely believe what I saw! There was a figure in the distance waving at me! As I got closer I realized that it was just a scarecrow! Her overalls were raggedy and she had patches on them. She had red and purple shiny buttons down the front of her shirt. Her green and pink shirt covered her straw body. I looked closely at her blue and purple button mouth. She appeared to be smiling at me. I ran my hand along her rough, dry, hair. Her nose reminded me of an orange carrot. I gasped when I saw her yellow pointy party hat sitting straight on her head pointing up to the sky. I looked down at her red shoes and laughed at the sight of the wiggly maroon shoelaces. Some of her hair fell to the ground. I picked it up and put it back on her head. She smiled when I did that. She was a friendly scarecrow!
