My Wave
By Alex

I took a deep breath and smelled the ocean breezes. The sand was cuddly in between my toes, and the sound of the shore was very pleasant, too. Then I saw one wave, not too small or big, gentle not too rough. This was my wave!

I got my bucket and when it broke I scooped it up. I ran home as fast as I could, but the sun was already was starting to hide behind the horizon. By the time I got home it was pitch black! I looked at my wave and it seemed to look sad. Maybe I'll bring you back tomorrow at twelve, I thought. So all morning he was the superstar! But at twelve I brought him back. I was sad, but it was something I had to do.
