The Bag and the Jacket
By Jonathan

My grandpa Adolf W. Simonides had a brother named Howard A. Simonides who was a pilot in World War II. Before Howard died he gave his jacket and helmet bag to is brother (my grandpa). Then my grandpa passed it down to me.

His jacket and helmet bag are both army green. The helmet bag has one big compartment to put a pilot helmet. The jacket has an Air Force label on its shoulder. The label is worn out. Both the jacket and helmet bag are very soft and smooth. The jacket has a lot of pockets that were probably used for important things.

Since this is a tradition, I will someday pass the jacket and helmet down to my son or grandson. These cherished objects are kept in my closet to keep them safe. Sometimes these objects are taken out only for special occasions. Traditions are fun and important!
