My cherished object is a watch made of gold. It was made in Switzerland where my great grandfather purchased it. His name was Emil Beer and he lived in a country called Czechoslovakia. He grew up very poor, but later became very successful and bought a mill. Soon he bought a pocket watch. He was about to become very successful when the Germans invaded. So he fled to the U.K. Then he passed the watch on to my grandmother, who passed it on to my dad. When this watch is passed on to me I will keep it in a safe place.
