As Kasey walked to Mr. Linden's Library she thought heavily about what book to get. When she walked in, the first thing she saw was a strange looking book lying on the shelf. The book had a mysterious looking warning sign on it and it said, "WARNING! Reader will regret getting this book." Kasey picked up the book and walked toward the checkout desk. Mr. Linden started telling her what happens when you finish chapter 10, but she wouldn't listen. She took the book and left the library. On the way home she sat down on the bench and started to read chapter 1. "Hi Kasey!" said a familiar voice. Kasey looked up from her book and saw her friend Meagan. "Hi Megs!" said Kasey, "I got this awesome new book called The Deadly Vine." "What! Return that book now!" shouted Meagan. "I heard that when you finish chapter 10 something terrible happens to you! Lilly Collins from biology disappeared and never came back." Kasey didn't even like Lilly, so why should she care. Kasey decided to go home and read till chapter 6. When she was done, she was so excited she read till chapter 10. When she was finally finished nothing had happened. After a while vines started to sprout from the book. They wrapped around Kasey's arms and threw her onto the bed. She slowly began to fall into a deep sleep. He had warned her about the book, but now, it was too late!
