He threw with all his might but the third stone came skipping back. It was a warm summer day and you could see trees, birds flying everywhere, and wildflowers scattered around. You could hear a heavy splash coming from the little boy skipping stones. You could smell all kinds of things but the smell you noticed the most was the clean, fresh smell of the stream. The little boy could feel the cool air of summer. Suddenly he saw something moving in the water. Looking closer, he saw nothing. Suddenly, he saw it again and it was moving closer by the second. He knew he had seen something this time! The big shadow appeared to be coming right at him. The boy's heart was pounding much faster than usual. Before him he saw a monster that was green and scaly, almost like a sea serpent. The boy stared at the huge green monster and the monster stared at the boy. Then the serpent said, "Please stop throwing the stone at me." The boy kept staring. Finally the boy said, "I'm sorry. I like playing here." The monster said, "Well, if you play, do not play what you played today." The boy agreed and the thing disappeared in thin air.
It started getting dark and the boy knew he should get home. Once he was safe at home he told his parents. Of course, they did not believe him. Late that night the boy made a decision, never go in the woods alone!
