It All Began When Someone Left the Window Open
by Owen

My family was moving and I was helping my mom and dad pack boxes. I wasn’t worried because we were only moving down the street. When we got there, it looked quite nice. When I got to my room, I was surprised to find that the wall was covered with birds. I opened a window to get some fresh air. My mom took me on a walk. I saw an old lady feeding bread to some doves. When I got home, I went back up to my room. I saw a dresser in the corner of the room and curtains handing on the windows.

I heard birds chirping but no birds were outside. "They must be on the roof," I thought. I hear thumping and then I knew something was moving in my room, but I just couldn’t find it! Suddenly, one of the doves from my wall paper and out the window! "What in the world is going on here?" I thought to myself! Suddenly, in rapid succession birds came flying off the wall. They flew into the street. People got out of their cars and ran for their lives. Chaos ran ramped through the streets of my neighborhood. I ran outside. People were screaming left and right. Suddenly I remembered the old lady feeding bread to the birds. Then I had an idea. I ran to the bakers. "Quickly! Give me 50 pounds of bread!" I yelled at the baker.

I took all the bread and put it in a large box with a lock on it. Luckily, all the birds flew into the box. I locked the box and threw it into the river. "Hurray, hurray! Hurray for me!" I said. "I hope that will never happen again," I thought to myself. Now I just need to get new wallpaper!
