The War Is Almost Here!
By Jia Jia

"What do I do? What do I tell them?" John Abarn shouted. "I need to think." He walked outside, sat in an old boat and looked out into the vast ocean. "Jane and Michel will be scared." Are they going to survive in it?" "Maybe we should move to the West with Aunty Ann." Yes, I should do just that!"

That night, John told his children about the war and his plan. They were terrified, but agreed with him. The next day, they packed their bags and went on the train to her house in the wilderness where few lived.

When the family arrived at the house, Aunty Ann showered them with hugs and kisses. They lived with her for a few days and then built a house of their own near hers. When the war started, no one in his family was harmed.

After the war, they remained in the wilderness because they had come to love the peaceful calm life there.

A Hard Life
by Jasmine

George, an old man, had just gotten a divorce. It was a tragic breakup but he stayed cool. He had nowhere to go and he was extremely ill too! But somehow, he managed.

He walked slowly around and found a tree that had fallen down, so he sat quietly down on it. It had rained the other night and there was a muddy puddle under the tree. He looked into the puddle sadly and saw his reflections and screamed an ear -piercing scream. HE WAS BALD!!!!! After a while, he calmed down and thought long and hard about what to do.

George had a broken heart and he was still very sick. Then, one day he was desperately trying to walk home and suddenly, out of nowhere, he fell to the ground---dead as a doornail.
