Welcome to Mr. Cook's science page. Mr. Vincent Cook teaches 7th grade life science, 8th grade physical science and 8th grade Earth Science. 

LIFE SCIENCE-7th Grade

This 7th grade course focuses on the study of all living things. This includes simple organisms, plants, animals, human biology, heredity, adaptation, and ecology. Laboratory experiences are an important part of this course and students are given a chance to do dissections and microscope work. This course culminates in a school final exam.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE-8th Grade

This 8th grade course focuses on the two main branches of Physical Science: Chemistry and Physics. Students work with tools of measurement, the diversity of matter, the physical/chemical properties of matter, and the Periodic table. In addition students study motion, force, work, electricity, heat, energy, and magnetism and simple machines. This course culminates in a New York State Middle School Science exam.

EARTH SCIENCE-8th Grade Accelerated

This High School level course focuses on the different processes that shape the earth with the emphasis being on a hands-on lab approach to learning. The units covered include the study of weather, geology, processes shaping the earth, oceanography and astronomy. This course culminates in a Regents exam. Prerequisite: Teacher’s recommendation and acceptance into Sequential I/Course A Math.
