Friendly Scarecrow

"Hello," the friendly scarecrow in the middle of the field seemed to say with his smiling orange stitched mouth. As I walked closer, I had to giggle a little when I spied his cross-eyed googly eyes and his red triangle nose. You couldn't miss that he was about the size of a rake and was so slim that he could have fallen over. I noticed the hat on his head was a yellow straw farmer's hat. Sitting on top of the hat was a bluebird as blue as the sea and a feather as purple as a grape. I could barely take my eyes off his red yarn hair (as red as a tomato) blowing in the breeze. Suddenly I heard the sound of crunchy straw. I didn't know where it was coming from until I saw the straw coming out of his maroon and white checkered shirt. I was surprised to see even more straw coming out of his overalls. His overalls were as blue as the bluebird on top of his hat and there were lots of patches on the overalls. On his feet he wore brown sneakers as brown as a grizzly bear. I smiled when I saw that his left knee was bent. As I looked again I saw his orange and gray work gloves and in one of his hands he held an old dented shovel. When I turned to walk away I thought I saw his other hand wave good bye to me.
