Ticadoo the Bird
By Carolyn

It was Friday the 8th of September, Louis would move on the 9th. That would be exactly tomorrow. Mother and Father were packing. "Louis, grab a garbage bag and fill it with your toys. Then rent a truck for Alphonse," said Mom. "Fine mom." It was a very busy day and Alphonse was hungry. Louis delivered newspaper and grilled cheeseburgers and gave them to Alphonse. Then he went out and bought lots and lots of birdseed. Finally he packed his toys and the truck got there. Louis put Alphonse and Ticadoo in the truck "773 Sleepy Hollow Rd. Please!’’ said Louis. When they got there Louis opened the door to his new house. "Nice house mom," he said. "Will I go to school today?" "Yes," said mother. He got his bag and went to school. His teacher was Mrs. Taverna. She was very nice. He met lots of kids. After school, Louis ran home. Ticadoo and Alphonse were fighting. Louis didn't know what to do. He didn't have a pool for Alphonse or a cage for Ticadoo. All of a sudden Ticadoo started crying. Louis picked him up. "Shhhh?" he said softly. Ticadoo stopped. Ticadoo was small. That night Louis told Alphonse and Ticadoo how much he missed Miss Seevers. He pulled out a picture of her and himself in a boat when they were looking for treasure to buy the pool for Alphonse. The pool was sold as a public pool and all the money went to Louis, but he didn't care about money. He wanted his friend. The next day a miracle happened! Miss Seever moved in NEXT DOOR! She still was a librarian except in the Sleepy Hollow library. Mrs. Taverna was much better than Mrs. Shelbert (she wasn't fat). All of a sudden it was September again and Louis's birthday was tomorrow. Uncle McAllister was on his way. The next day Louis had a great party. He got a lot of presents! Miss Seever got another idea to make a zoo for weird animals with no cages, just environments. It was a perfect idea! Louis got a singing plant and it fit fine with the weird zoo.
