
A house sparrow has 3,500 feathers in winter & 3,100 in the summer. The tree sparrow lives in the northeastern part of the United States. Sparrows have feet that can easily grasp and hold on to a perch. Their claws tell where they live. A sparrow has a short, thick beak that can crush seeds easily. Tree sparrows eat weed seeds, crabgrass, pigweed, sedge etc. and sometimes incects. Sparrows are related to finches, grosbeaks, buntings, and juncos. This bird family is the biggest family in the world and in the United States. Some sparrows are small but they can be a little bigger than other sparrows. Sparrows are small but successful.
