South Dakota
by Andrew

As I drove north from Nebraska, I drove by Wounded Knee. Sitting Bull was killed there over 100 years ago. I stopped at Badlands National Park. It was really awesome! The rocks were many different colors and seemed to just shoot out of the ground. I enjoyed the nice warm weather. In the winter time it can get very cold here. Then I headed west to see Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills. I've never seen anything like it! George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln are all carved into the mountain. They are each between 50 and 70 feet high. From there I drove to Pierre, the state capital. I saw lots of cattle, hogs, and wheat. Pierre sits on the Missouri River. From there I headed ease to Sioux Falls, the state's largest city. I saw stockyards, slaughterhouses, and meat-packing plants. South Dakota was a lot of fun. I think I'm going to go to Minnesota.
