Shannon Bahrke
Its all over, Shannon Bahrke wins the Olympic Bronze medal in freestyle skiing!!!
Shannon was born on November 7, 1980 in Reno, Nevada and raised in Tahoe, California. She began skiing when she was three years old. She joined the high school alpine ski team when she was in 7th grade. Shannon was a talented athlete. In high school she was on the soccer, ski, softball, and track teams. She also played trumpet with the symphonic and jazz bands in high school. She later moved to freestyle skiing. Shannon went to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. In 1998 earned a spot on the U.S. Freestyle Team.
Her younger brother, Scotty Bahrke, also competed in the Olympics as an aerialist. Shannon and her fiancé Matt Happe co-founded the Silver Bean Coffee Company in 2008. At the 2010 Winter Olympics she announced she would retire following the Olympics and marry Happe.
Shannon has won an Olympic Silver medal in 2002 and an Olympic Bronze in 2010 in freestyle and she took a bronze in 2003 World Ski Championships and a silver in the 2007 World Ski Championships.
