Cori Chambers
Cori started playing basketball when she was only 6 or 7 years old. She would go the playground with her cousin Jim and play with the boys. Cori liked it a lot and it came easy to her so she just kept on playing. When Cori was at Pocantico Hills School she played basketball on the boys team. She was great even then. She went to Ursuline High School in New Rochelle, NY. She was a star basketball player. She was an All State player for three years in a row. She was Ms. New York Basketball in her senior year and she was even named to the McDonald's High School All-American team. In the fall of 2003 Cori will be going to the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Cori picked Georgia because she likes the warm weather and they have a number of majors that she is interested in. She will be playing basketball for the Lady Bulldogs. She hopes to be the starting shooting guard. Cori would like to be a broadcaster or a computer graphic designer when she graduates. Cori thinks it is really exciting when people ask her for her autograph because as Cori says, "I'm only seventeen." Cori is a really nice girl and really good basketball player. We hope we will be as good a player and as nice as Cori when we grow up! Images courtesy of Cori Chambers By Chris & Griffin, fourth grade, 2003 |
