Mia Hamm is a
great soccer player. She has scored more goals than any other female
soccer player in the world. Mia is a forward for the Washington Freedom
and the US National Team. She was born on March 17, 1972 in Selma,
Alabama and grew up mostly in Texas. She is the fourth of six children.
Mia moved many times when she was young because her father was in the Air
Force. He father fell in love with soccer while he was stationed in Italy.
He became a referee and then coached some of his children. Mia enjoyed
playing sports and soccer became her favorite. She loved to run and kick.
At 15, she made the US National Team. She went to the University of North
Carolina where she played soccer and was a three time All American.
Mia has led the US team to victory 2 World Cups. I hope that when Mia
retires from soccer that she will coach. I'd love for her to be my coach!
It was fun teaching you about Mia Hamm.
