Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins
Do
you think that if you started skateboarding when you were six years old you
could become a professional skateboarder? Well, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins did just
that! Lyn-Z was born on September 21, 1989 in San Diego, California. She got
interested in skateboard because of her brother. Lyn-Z grew up in Escondido,
California, living there until she was nine. Then she moved with her mom and
brother to Sayilta, Mexico. Her grandmother had a bed and breakfast there. Lyn-Z
spent a lot of time surfing when her family was in Mexico. Along with
skateboarding, Lyn-Z played soccer, basketball, baseball, and did gymnastics.
She thinks that the gymnastics helped her skating. Lyn-Z is quite an athlete!
Her favorite tricks involve hand plants and any old school trick.
Her dad died on December 26, 2003. "Rest is Peace, Dad" is written on the grip tape of her board. Her mother travels with her a lot.
We wanted to write about Lyn-Z because we are into skateboarding. Lyn-Z sounds like she puts a lot of work into her skating and it would be fun to see her in a competition. It would also be fun for her to teach us a few tricks!
