Lisa Leslie

Leslie was born on July 7, 1972. She is a forward on the Los Angeles Sparks. She
graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994. She is 6 feet and
5 inches. Lisa Leslie was embarrassed by her height, but she found her height
useful when a friend talked her into playing basketball. While she was at
Morningside High School which is located in Los Angeles, she emerged as one of
the top players in the nation. She led the team to a pair of state
championships. In Atlanta at the Olympics, Lisa led all of the U.S. players in
scoring (19.5 ppg.) and she also had a team high 29 points and 6 rebounds in the
USA's gold medal game win over the defending World Champion Brazil. Lisa is not
shy anymore about being tall.
