Nancy Lopez

Nancy Lopez is a famous golfer. She was born in Torrance, California on January 6, 1957. She started playing golf when she was eight years old. Her father Domingo was her coach. She went to college at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. Nancy turned profession while she was still in college.

Nancy married former Met baseball star Ray Knight on October 29, 1983. At the time Ray was playing third base for the Mets. They live in Albany, Georgia with their three daughters, Ashley Marie born on November 7, 1973, Erinn Shea born on May 26, 1983 and Torrie Heather born on October 30, 1991. She founded the Nancy Lopez Golf Company. She was Rookie of the Year in 1978. She was also four time Player of the Year (1978, 1979, 1985, 1988.) Nancy was inducted into LPGA Hall of Fame on July 20, 1978 when she was only 30 years old! Nancy is retiring after this season (2002).
