Jamie Salé was born on
April 21, 1977. She was ice skating since the age of 5. Since March 10, 1998 her
and David Pelletier were ice skating partners. They were also in love with each
other so their fans thought of them as partners in and out of the Ice Ring. The
first competition together was in Canada 1998. They showed a wonderful
performance together and won a bronze medal. Little did they know they would in
four years they soon would be in the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
They represented Canada. They were competing against Russia for the Gold medal. Even though their performance was flawless Russia at first won the Gold medal even though they made many mistakes. The reason for this scandal was the French judge was pressured to vote for the Russian pair.
For three long days the judges spoke in private discussing about who would win the gold medal. After 3 three days they decided Russia and Canada would share the medal. It was a great victory for Jamie & David.
