Harriet Beecher Stowe is famous for writing
"Uncle Tom's Cabin." It is a book about slavery during the 1850's. She was born
on June 14, 1811 in Litchfield, Connecticut.
Her pop was a preacher. She wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin in 1853. She wrote it to tell people about what slavery was like. It became one of the most important books of that time. It sold over 500,000 copies in the United States.
