Susan Stroman
Susan Stroman was
born on October 17, 1954 in Wilmington, Delaware. She is a famous choreographer
on Broadway. Susan loves music! She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, and began
taking dance lessons when she was 5. The kind of dance she learned was jazz,
tap, and ballet. She majored in theatre at the University of Delaware. She
graduated in 1976 and moved to New York City. She worked as a dancer for a while
then began choreographing jobs on and off Broadway, for TV and for the New York
City Ballet. She won her first TONY Award for Crazy for You in 1992. Her
husband died 1999 of leukemia at the age of 53. It's so sad. She has
choreographed many shows since then. Susan works all the time. She said, "I
work all the time. I'm pretty much a workaholic." Some of her most work was
for Contact, The Producers, and Oklahoma.
